While visiting the lovely island of New Providence, The Bahamas, PD Photography proprietor, Phylicia Duncombe, reached out to Tamara over at Wild Tamarind Bahamas with the intentions of conducting an editorial, bridal shoot. Tamara was delighted by the idea and immediately began planning the particulars of the shoot. She came up with the concept, as well as selected the venue, model, hair and makeup artists, and dress.
This concept of the photoshoot was a“Forsaken” bride, which was the pair’s interpretation on an unconventional approach to a bride; “a beautiful mess” is how the two described the overall look. The muse of the shoot, @thedeeqs, had her hair done in a crown-like braid by @morphedbridesbytara and makeup look was done by @yeishaforbesbeauty.
The session took place at a catholic church located on Bay Street. The church’s black and white outer contrast fit the concept perfectly. It complimented the monotoned, ‘dreadfully beautiful’ pose the model had plastered on her face; she exuded such a sad softness through the stances she took. This was truly one of Phylicia’s favorite style shoots that she’s ever done.
